Heart Cry

For week of July 25th, 2010.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. [GOD ALWAYS keeps His promises!]

Carole Whiteside—has found that her cancer has spread to her lungs, but her doctor believes it can be treated with only a hormone. No biopsy, surgery, radiation, or chemo-therapy is indicated. “We have a peace that only the Lord can give.  We thank everyone for their prayers!”— Ed Whiteside

Harold Smith
—is in the hospital awaiting a transfusion for treatment of his lukemia, but the blood with proper antibiotics is not available at present.  If none is found soon, doctors will use the closest match of blood they have.  Please pray for Harold and for success in finding the blood plasma he needs.

Diane Winberry
—recently had an esophagus and stomach scope procedure completed and Kerry reports, “Thanks for your prayers. Procedure was done this morning and doctor saw nothing ‘scary.’ Did see some abnormal tissues in certain areas and did biopsy of them. Results within two weeks. He did see an infection called Helico-bacterial (or something like that) and is treating it with two antibiotics and prilosec(rx version). Please pray that she would not have the nausea which is probable from the antibiotics (which she is sensitive to). Doctor said she must just ‘get through it‘ because this is the best treatment for it. Thanks again for your prayers and concern.” —Kerry

Pam Worley Carson
(Kevin’s sister)—will be having her MRI this week to  determine what response the spinal tumor has had to the second round of chemotherapy treatments.  The treatments have weakened her kidneys considerably during this round.  Please pray that they will return to a healthy function now that the chemo is completed.  Also please pray that the 2nd round of chemo has done it’s good work on getting rid of the tumor.  Pam has continued to be sustained by your prayers and encouragement.  She continues to praise God for His presence with her.   If anyone would like to send a postcard to Pam to let her know that you have been one of her prayer warriors you can write to her at Pam Carson, 9991 Woodbriar Road, Shreveport, LA 71129.  Thank you so much!

Louise Drye
(Vicki Lloyd’s mother)—fell several weeks ago and broke her hip.  She came through the surgery and is in rehab at St. Edwards Hospital in Ft. Smith, but is experiencing dementia and confusion.  The family would appreciate prayers for her recovery and for decisions that must be made about long-term care.  Thank you so much.

Erin
(eldest child of Dale and Donna Warren)—went on a two week medical/mission trip to Haiti this past February. She and her husband, Roger, have become host parents to a 12 year old Haitian boy named Widlove. Please pray for Erin and Roger, who do not speak the same language as Widlove (Creole), and for the doctors—that they will find his eyeball is viable so his sight can be restored. Please pray that God will make it possible for his arm to be restored.

Valerie
(the sister of a UBC member)—had surgery a month ago.  Please pray for her total recovery.  Also pray for a friend,

Darrye Jones, who has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Rose Jeffries
—was discharged from the hospital and is now home. The cause of her original difficulty has yet to be determined, so please continue to pray.

—Mission Prayer Requests—

From Louie in India: One of the persons trained by us five years back joined with his wife in our team. He is a Kuvi. He will be  staying with another team member in one of our target villages. The militants are all over the villages in the DK area. They are against Jitu since he is supporting the factory. They are finding ways to kill him. He needs prayer.
Tuna is recovering. God has moved one brother from South to feed 50 DK children every day with one mid-day meal. We have chosen two key villages and we have bought utensils. I hope this could help to improve the relationship with the villagers. Our boys are sharing the Bible story accounts with them.

Prayer Requests for Imprisoned Moroccan Christian

A Moroccan Christian named Jamaa Ait Bakrim has been imprisoned for  refusing to stop talking about his faith. He served over a year in prison. In 2005 he was again tried and found guilty of “proseytization.” The judge condemned Jamaa to 15 years in prison, stating, “the fact that Jamaa denies accusations of proselytization is inconsistent with the confession during which he proclaimed he was a son of Christ and he wanted Moroccans to become Christians…” Jamaa is currently serving out this sentence, and is located in Prison Centrale of Kenitra, Morocco. Please pray: [1]That Jamaa is released. His existence has been hidden from the outside world and we must hold him up and pray for his courage. [2] That the hearts of Moroccan leaders change toward Christians, and they stop the persecution that has led to the recent expulsion of 100 Christian foreigners. [3] For the Moroccan church to withstand the increasing pressure from the government and stand out as an example of endurance and grace.  http://www.MNN online.org/article/14501
