Deacon Ministry

The deacon is one of only two offices listed in the New Testament, along with the Elder / Pastor.  With Acts 6 as a primary source, we believe that there are 3 primary responsibilities for the deacon:

1. Meet the physical and temporal needs of the body
2. Promote unity within the body
3. Support the ministry of the Word in the body

Our primary method for fulfilling these responsibilities is through the Family Ministry Plan.  This plan is very simple.  We assign church families and singles to every deacon.  The deacon is to care for these family groups with emphasis on the responsibilities mentioned above.  Our hope is to faithfully administer the office of deacon as we help families in singles to glorify God by treasuring Christ above all things and reaching others that they may find lasting joy in Him.
