College Ministry Staff

Stephen Martin

Stephen has been serving in the college ministry since June of 2003 and has been the Pastor of College Ministry for since 2006. Stephen and his wife Tamara have three kids (Cooper, Jackson, Kate) and love living in northwest Arkansas. Stephen and Tamara are both graduates of the University of Arkansas and have been married since November of 2000. Stephen is pursuing his MDiv  through Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY and hopes to graduate before his kids do. (Stephen does not normally speak or write in third person but thought it sounded better as it would be read on the website.) Stephen loves his family, traveling, reading, and pretty much anything sports. Follow him on twitter @stephen_martin.

Cole Penick

Cole works with college men’s discipleship here at UBC and is also on staff with the Baptist Collegiate Ministry on campus.  He and his wife, Caroline, are passionate about working and living out life with college students.  Cole loves sports, little known local restaurants and spending time with his wife and friends.  He and Caroline plan to one day follow their God-given love of working with college students overseas on to the mission field.  Follow him on twitter @ColePenick.

Kristin Faulk

Kristin received her degree in biology from the U of A this past December and is now the College Women’s Ministry Coordinator at UBC.  She has a passion for building relationships with college women and doing life with them, with the desire to see them deepen their walk with Christ.  She also has a passion for reaching international students and enjoys music, reading, the outdoors, traveling and spending quality time with family and friends.  She is so thankful to have the opportunity to serve the body at UBC and blessed to have the opportunity to minister to and with college students.  Follow her on twitter @kristin_faulk.

Kailey Miller

Kailey was raised here at UBC in Fayetteville. She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 2010 and transitioned into the college ministry.  Kailey now attends the University of Arkansas and is pursuing degrees in music composition and vocal and instrumental music education.  Now, Kailey is a college ministry intern with the Leadership Training Project.  She is super excited about opportunities God has placed in front of her in this internship to grow in her relationship with God and to minister to the students on the U of A campus.  In her free time, Kailey is involved in the Razorback Marching Band, the Schola Cantorum Choir, and also teaches piano.  Follow her on twitter @kaileyem.

Sydney Duerr

Sydney Duerr has finished her year as college intern in the Leadership Training Project and has decided to stay on staff as a volunteer.  She is in her final year at the U of A and is double majoring in International relations and Middle Eastern Studies.  She loves building relationships with college women and encouraging them in their walks with Christ.  She also loves to learn about different cultures, and, more importantly, she enjoys learning out to love on them with the love of Christ and talk to them about the Gospel.   She loves doing things outdoors, playing sports, reading listening to music, playing, & meeting new people.  She would love to do mission work overseas & possible go to seminary after she graduates.  Follow her on twitter @Sydneyduerr.

Steve Kieklak

Steve Kieklak was an intern with the college ministry in 2009.  He is sticking around this year as “volunteer staff.”  He’s a third year student at the University of Arkansas with a huge passion for God’s word.  Through the internship he really learned the value of the local church and has really fallen in love with UBC.  Steve has an older brother, Ronnie, and a younger sister, Erika, who both go to UBC and are students at the university.  Steve hopes to go to seminary after getting his undergrad God willing.  Follow him on twitter @SteveKieklak.
